Stargate: Return of the Ancients, or ROTA, is a fanfiction series written to canon as a third Stargate TV series, retconning SGU and most of SGA season 5 out of existence and continuing the storyline of both SG1 and SGA in TV series format, with 20 episodes per season.

Given that this isn’t authorized, it can’t be sold and is therefore free for all to read in the links below. Enjoy. ūüôā

For those of you wondering about future ROTA seasons, I’m not going to be able to write any new episodes for a while. The Star Force franchise is what pays the bills for me, so I have to give priority to those projects. Sucks, because I would like to write ROTA and sell it, but I don’t have the permissions to do that. I think it would sell pretty good too.

A little known fact about authors…when you go to a bookstore or online to Amazon, most of the Profession Authors you see are only part time. Very few write and sell enough to make a full time job of out of this, and I am in that rarified¬†group. Largely due to the fact that I’ve written and published about 3 million words over the past 4 years.¬†If an average novel is 100,000 words, that means the equivalent of 30 novels. Some authors put out 1 novel a year, some take 2 or 3 years to write one.

My reader base is growing, but smaller than most of my competition. I have made up for this with volume…and most days will write a 3000 word chapter a day. So when I say I am busy with projects, I mean I am VERY busy. Most authors can’t write that fast.

If/when¬†I get back to ROTA I don’t know, but I will say I planned the story out to cover between 5-10 seasons depending on how in depth into the storyline I went. I know you want to read it NOW, but unfortunately there isn’t a print button on my head. Writing takes time, and doing Stargate justice takes a LOT of time, patience, and care to get it right. You know, all the stuff that TPTB didn’t do in SGA S5 and especially SGU.

Anyway, so ROTA is on the backburner but I hope to get back to it sometime. I just can’t say when. Right now my focus has to be on Star Force and attracting new readers to it. It’s my cash cow, and if I want to remain a full time author I gotta keep churning out content.

So I hope you enjoy the season and a half I have written, and will see and agree that there is still a LOT of potential left in the Stargate franchise without needing to reboot it. I just takes some skill to pull off.
